Just logged in to the forum! Cool to have also an English section !
I've been reviewing the forum from times to times, and now that i'm gonna stay a bit longer in Shanghai, I'm looking to purchase a nice mountain bike.
I remember having read somewhere on the forum the address of a store that was dealing Commencal bikes.
Unfortunately i can't find the link (Url) back. Would someone remember this stuff and let me know in case ?
Thanks a lot !
.. and thanks to the guys who handle the forum: it's very nice to have it !
Cheers.

There is an official Commencal bike shop located at end (it's actually around the junction) of Jian Guo Lu near the Giant Bike shop that most foreigners are familiar with. The shop's name is LaBichi...about 20 meters around the junction.
If you don't mind me asking...is Commencal the specific brand you are looking for or are you open to more options?
If you need a guide to the bike shop then feel free to hook-up.
Thanks for your inputs. I plan to have a look at the store some days this week.
Actually i don't really mind about the bicycle. I just like Commencal because it's also what i ride when back to home country.
I went also to Decathlon, and saw a nice rockrider there for something like 6900元 which is already pretty much.
So, i believe that the imported bikes will really be expensive..
Thus.. the main target is to visit the store and try to meet with people. Would be nice to join a little group to ride and get along with funny guys.
Anyway: this is another chapter !
I get back to you once i've been to Labici !
Cheers !

HHuumm...i gather you are French then? At Labichi... the bikes are pretty expensive and 6900 will probably get you an entry level mountain bike....i might be wrong but it's worth a look. At the end, it really depends on your budget and how serious you are in this sport.
If you are hessitant to approach a local bike shop because of the language barrier (i might be wrong to jump the gun because you can type chinese characters)...feel free to look up the Shanghai [Flying Hairy Legs Cycling] club where many foreigners from all over the world formed a road bike league right here in Shanghai.... from here, you'll get to know a lot of people and they will relate their China cycling experiences in details with you.
Thanks for your inputs. I plan to have a look at the store some days this week.

Just some feedback from my visit to LaBiCi today..
Very nice shop, very nice stuff.. and probably the most expensive prices i've ever seen of my life
I had a little chat with the sales guy there: the taxes on the spad are of over 38%.. Something like a Combi already costs almost 8000Yuan ! Incredible..
Anyway.. i also went to the Giant store, and had a look at the ATX.. looks good.. ! I also realized that my standards where totally out of time: i didn't know that the new Deore LX speed shift is now moved from the brake handle, by pushing up and down..!!
So, to summarize.. i'm still looking for the best way to have a nice bicycle, without paying too much..
FastJudy, to answer your question.. yes i'm french
Was that guessed from my chinese ? , my english ? or the fact that i mentioned Decathlon and Commencal ?
Anyway, thanks for your indications: the visit to the LaBiCi was interesting still !!
88 !
You mentioned that Commencal is what you rode back home and Commencal is from France hence i guess you're a french-man.
HHuummm.... droped out of the cycling game for a long time eh? Hehe...no worries, take your time to read up either from magazines or the internet...then slowly gather the information to build up the bike you need or want. I think some visits to local bike shops will give you a better idea of what to expect because some parts are cheaper bought through the internet and some are cheaper bought right here in China. Also, building your own bike is much cheaper then buying one off the rack because you get to choose the parts new or second-hand which will affect the final price. Good luck!
