Riding from Shanghai to Zhujiajiao

Hi everyone,

I am planning to bike from downtown Shanghai to Zhujiajiao water town. Can anyone suggest the best route to take? Are bicycles allowed on the freeways? Would prefer riding B-roads or trunk roads if possible. Also where is a good bookshop to get maps of outskirts of Shanghai (i.e. outside the inner ring road). Appreciate the help. Thanks!

I bought a GPS recently (more for my car). Very detailed map available and you can do simulation. Just key in your current location and destination, and the system can show you the best route to get there. I find this better than the map. You probably cant bring it along for cycling. It is too bulky and the battery wont last that long.
