Hehe...why do you think there is so many people riding PROPER roadbikes with clipless pedal? The fact remains that clipness pedals are for seasoned or experience riders... That "someone" is probably a newbie or simply a person not confident in using one.... granted using clipless pedals are not that "convenient" while you're riding in the city but then again, if you are used to it like me... unclipping the clipless pedal becomes a second nature. Clipless pedals are for riders who are serious about riding... anything else is recreational.... That becomes more apparent in roadbikes when every second counts while you're racing... you don't see any tour de France riders using flat pedals do you?
p.s: Downhillers uses non clipless (flat pedals) for a specific reason so it's not within this debate.作者: flyingking 时间: 2009-3-17 12:03
AS A MATTER OF FACT.I AGREE YOU!作者: dukeduck 时间: 2009-3-17 13:03
As a Shanghai local roadie, let me tell you that NEVER ride a roadbike without the clipless pedals. And even don't call it a roadbike if it does not equip with a pair of clipless pedals.
Obviously the guy who told you so know NOTHING about riding a roadbike.
Road cycling is a sport like any other sports, and it takes time to learn how to play. It's not riding your city bike...
