Asians are better on math in general. there are quite a few westerners still taking algebra1 on their junior year

yamakasi 发表于 2007-6-25 23:20:03

However, i think "imagination" is more important

I like such kind oftriangle ABC, which reminds me those free days with floods of happiness in junior high school~~~
BTW,I agree with such opinion that what most significant role the education plays is to stimulate students' creation.

I beg to differ. I believe teaching knowledge is more important than "stimulate...creation". Without knowledge even the most creative people will be still inventing wheels one after another.

BTW, it is an urban legend that western kids are better in the "imagination" department.

Both Asian and Western education system differ from each other; The Western method of learning encourages students to ask questions, to question doctrin answers, to investigate problems and discuss amongst themselves. The Asian method of learning is to remember. It's true that Asians are very good at systematic equations while the westerners are open to concepts of "what if?"   I always believe that the world is created with a balance between all beings.... and there is no such thing as the perfect race.

our educationsystem is just for EXAM
